Fleece to Felt Experience Day

Experience length:  5 hours

Ever fancied having a go at shearing a sheep?

Have a small flock and want to try shearing?

Want to make something with wool?

Looking for something different to add to your birthday list?

7th wedding anniversary? Celebrate with wool!

This is a great experience day for anyone and everyone whether you are a sheep-lover, crafter, smallholder or just fancy having a go at something different!

Come and join us at Aberhyddnant where Paul will talk you through how to shear your very own sheep. Follow the journey of a fleece from sheep to product. Begin with a step by step group demonstration by Paul who is a very experienced shearer. This is followed by individual one-to-one hands-on training where you can do as much and get as hands-on as you would like!

You will then learn the craft of needle felting and use some of your fleece to make your very own needle felted memory of your experience. You will also have a needle felting starter kit to take home and carry on creating.

We have a range of high quality felting wool in our onsite shop that you can purchase before you head home if you want to continue your crafting.

A two course farmhouse lunch is provided as well as refreshments throughout the day. Vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options are available if advised beforehand.

Spaces are limited with only six places available to book on each day, this ensures that you get the best hands on shearing experience possible as well as ensuring the well-being of the sheep.

Please see our Need to Know section before booking.
