Sheep Trekking

Walk through the beautiful Welsh countryside with your very own four legged woolly companion.

Walk a Sheep

This is an unique chance to explore the Brecon Beacons National Park in the company of your very own sheep companion.

Walk a sheep in Wales!

Each specially trained sheep is fitted with his own head collar and will lead you along scenic trek with picturesque views of Pen-Y-Fan and the Beacons. (Please note that views are weather dependable).

Each sheep trek begins with meeting the sheep, giving them a sneaky treat and finding out more about the different breeds and their unique personalities before finding your match for the walk. You will then take a relaxed stroll around our 200 acre farm.

We have a wide selection of friendly sheep to choose from.

The first sheep we purchased for sheep trekking were Jacobs, in 2014 we brought a group of wethers (castrated males) who were destined to become lamb chops. They now live the life of luxury eating, sleeping and going on a walk.

The most recent additions to the trekking team are the Ouessant and Valais Blacknose. Ouessant sheep are the worlds smallest naturally occurring sheep. The wonderful Ouessant sheep is a rare breed of heritage sheep originally from the island of Ouessant in Brittany.  Each one of our Ouessant is individual and very cheeky!  Socks and Patches are Valais Blacknose and are described as the worlds cutest sheep! I think you will agree!

We have a variety of treks available throughout the year, upcoming treks can be viewed here. However, we only run our Winter Sheep Walks and  bespoke treks during September to February.

Need to Know

  • Please bring wellies or walking shoes, wellies are preferable during wetter months as we will be walking around the farm on potentially muddy terrain.

  • Children must be accompanied by a paying adult. Both adults and children will require a ticket. Young children under 12 will share an adult's sheep or a sheep with an older child and children 3 years and under are free.

  • To ensure the well-being of the sheep and the quality of the experience the group sizes are kept small therefore unfortunately we do not allow bystanders on the treks.

  • The trek is uphill but on reasonable terrain, the sheep are laid back and walk at a leisurely pace

  • Please note that there are friendly dogs on the farm. Your own dogs are sadly not welcome for this experience due to the possible stress levels for the sheep.

  • The experience is conducted with small groups so early booking is advisable if you have a particular date in mind.

  • If you would like us to arrange a bespoke trek for your group please enquire here

  • Undated gift certificates are also available in our shop.
